Comment: If you’re looking for an efficient and professional lawyer, Brian Garmo is the one for you…When my family first contacted Brian it was about three weeks from my court date and we were extremely worried about our situation. I was facing a misdemeanor charge for my fake ID after it was mistakenly given to a police officer when I was in a car accident. Along with the misdemeanor, I also had two traffic tickets, that could’ve resulted in me having to restart my provisional license. Brian was very honest about potential outcomes, and discussed worst case scenario situations. It’s also important to note how knowledgeable he is about the law, and the court process, as he was extremely educated and answered all of our questions immediately over the phone. He also is fantastic at answering his emails, unlike other lawyers Brian responded to questions even after typical office hours within minutes.At my court date, Brian showed up very well prepared, and already knew the outcome of the case before it had begun in the courtroom. He was able to make a deal with the prosecutor and completely dismiss my misdemeanor charge, along with one of my traffic violations, and reduce the other violation to a civil infraction and a very small fee. In the end, I only paid $135 for violations I easily could’ve paid $2k+ for without Brian.Every penny you spend to pay for Brian is one less penny you’ll have to spend in legal fees and potential record damaging charges. I can not speak highly enough of Brian and my experience with him!

I promise, it would be worth reading for folks who will ever go through divorce related issues.I was a person who lost almost his whole life (immigration status, financial assets, family and a minor). Incident happened when I went overseas to visit my family. From there, I contacted more than one dozen Divorce+Criminal lawyers but no other lawyer treated me in a way as Matt Van Steenkiste and “Elyse Victor” did and deeply showed interest in my case. This was my first ever interaction with lawyers in US. I personally met with Matt and Elyse on the very first day I returned back to US and immediately hired him. My divorce case, PPOs, criminal investigation cases all ran in Wayne and Washtenaw county for almost two and half months and this man handled my case in a very professional manner. Matt and Elyse are great human beings I have ever met with. Brian Garmo to take my sons case for driving without his license physically on his person, forgetting to turn his lights on and having a broken BB gun in his car while it was being driven. I had never spoken to an attorney nor had my son been in any trouble until now. Brian has been a God send. Comment: I had a criminal case in Oakland County that Matt helped me through (and we all know Oakland County is not the best place to have a criminal case). He was prompt to get back to me when I called, even though he usually answered the phone. His work in the courtroom was outstanding, the fees were reasonable, and he didnt miss a beat with filing memorandums that were needed for my case. He was very familiar with the judges, the prosecutors, and the girls behind the glass at the courthouse (which made me feel much better that everything that could be done actually got done). Matt even took the time to talk to someone he knew at the family court in Macomb County for me as I needed information about my family court case (and he didnt charge me extra). Although, I expect I will never need him again with a criminal case in any County, I would hire him again in a heart beat. I also wouldnt hesitate to recommend Matt to my close friends and family--which is why I wrote this review. If someone needs an attorney for a criminal case (or any legal matter) in Oakland County or Macomb County the first stop should be to these guys. I couldnt be more satisfied with Matt as my attorney.
